Rules and Regulations

1. Anyone handling a dog at the club must be a club member.
2. Junior Handlers – We welcome junior handlers of all ages in the club, but any handler under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 16 and this parent / guardian must also be a current club member.
3. Class fees are payable in full in advance.
4. If in the event that a handler cannot attend the class please inform your instructor.  Refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances.
   In the event that the class is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, the instructor will make every attempt to contact you.  The club will either reschedule the class or will refund the fees.
5. Any dog which has contracted or been knowingly exposed to any infectious or contagious disease during the previous 21 days, or which is suffering from a visible condition which adversely affects its health or welfare, shall not be brought to any club event or classes.
6. Bitches in season must not attend any club events or classes for at least three weeks.
7. The intranasal Bordetella KC vaccination is a live vaccine so it’s possible to pass the infection on for a short period after vaccination. Thus we ask that a dog should not come to classes for 24 hours after the “up the nose” drops or oral vaccination.
8. Any dog of such temperament or is so much out of control as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal may be asked to leave the class.
9. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time.
10. Dogs in Vehicles on hot days – Your dog is vulnerable and at risk if left in a vehicle in high temperatures and even on days considered as slightly warm.  Please take care of your dog.  If your dog is found to be at risk forcible entry to your vehicle may be necessary without liability for any damage caused.
11. Welfare of dogs – Handlers should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not knowingly put their dogs’ health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise.  The use of pinch collars, electronic shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted.
12. Control of Dogs Order 1992 states that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the name and address (including postcode) of the owner engraved or written on it, or engraved on a tag.
13. Handlers are asked to clean up after your dog, and if you have male dogs please try to restrain them from lifting their legs against the pillars and walls outside the venue. (This does not look good for the Club and encourages bitches to do the same.) Do not allow your dog to scent mark indoors or on any equipment.
14. Members must agree to abide by the Kennel Club Code of Conduct, the Kennel Club Canine Code and the Kennel Club General Code of Ethics.
