Lochaber & District Canine Club will try and assist anyone who asks for our help. Unfortunately some issue go beyond our expertise and we will not be qualified to help you. In those cases we will refer you to the SKC and/or the Kennel Club who hold lists of qualified behaviourists and they will be able to advise you further. Please remember there is a big difference between a dog training instructor and a dog behaviourist.

Below is a list of people in the area who may be able to help with issues that Club instructors cannot. These are not recommendations and are not in any specific order. None of these trainers are affiliated to the club, and the club accepts no responsibility for methods used or advice given.
If and when you speak to any of these people please ensure you give them all relevant information about your issue and answer their questions honestly and fully. Different people will have different ways of dealing with issues. Please make sure you ask about training methods and ensure that they are methods you and your dog will be comfortable with. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and be prepared to speak to more than one person. Your first step should always be a consultation with your vet to rule out any physical reasons for issues.
