Companion Dog Show 2017

The Lochaber and District Canine Society held their annual fun dog show on Tuesday 4th July.  Nearly 40 dogs and their owners came along to join in the fun.  Classes for pedigree dogs included a special beginners class, for dogs and handlers who have never won at a Kennel Club show, to encourage newcomers.  The novelty classes are always highly popular; with 21 lovely dogs entering the best condition class it was a difficult job for the judges.  There was also a puppy walk for those too young to take part, and a best trick competition.

This years chosen charity was Canine Partners and a representative from the charity came along.  Fiona Barcenas, and Barnum the dog, were happy to tell owners about the work of the charity and Fiona judged the best trick competition.  Fiona said “Thank you so so much for the lovely evening , we had at the fun dog show ….it was a breath of fresh air so light hearted and upbeat.  At the same time so well organised and professional . It was an honour for Barnum and I to judge the dog trick section ,we hadn’t realised how talented the the dogs of Lochaber were.”

Once again I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of people in support of our companion dog show.  We raised over £587.79 for Canine Partners. Well done, and a massive thank you to all who gave generously of their time and money, to all those who helped in the organisation, setup and running of the show, and to all those who came along and took part. I hope you all enjoyed your night and had fun with your dogs.
