The weather has been mixed but the enthusiasm has never waivered.
The team sets up the jumps, tunnels, dog walk & weaving then demonstrates them all before allowing the spectators (and there dogs) to have a go, and lots of them have.
See pictures on the photo gallery.
The Club hosted a profitable seminar weekend in Roybridge covering two elements 'Regulations and Judging Procedure' and 'Conformation and Movement' (Points, Structure & Conventional Measurements of a Dog). This seminar was aimed at people who are interested in moving into Judging, candidates came from across the country to attend, everyone passed and the feedback was very positive. The Club is looking into hosting other seminars for specific breeds and stewarding.
Watch this space for further details.

The 2 day show was a sucess, although numbers followed the national trend and were slightly down on previous years. The weather held up for most of the time and spirits were high. The Ceilidh was, as usual, great fun with a good mixture of music and the dance floor was busy.
Thanks from the Club go to all those who helped over the weekend especially the Judges and Stewards.

This year the club has organised dinner at Russell's at Smiddy House in Spean Bridge.
On Tuesday 16th December.
The cost of the meal is £30 per head non club members, £25 per head for club members.
Anyone wishing to attend should give a £10 deposit to Ann Maxwell as soon as possible.
A great night was had by all, the food was excellent and the company most convivial.
We had a room to ourselves, not sure if this was for our comfort or the benefit of the other diners!

Hello, I would like your help if possible? I’m planning on a charity walk later next year with my big Pyrenean to raise money for the neurology unit at Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital where I was looked after and nursed back to health last year. The walk is the West Highland Way and should take the two of us around a week to complete. Picture me in a tent with Belle and you’ll know just how big a challenge this is going to be! Your help would be much appreciated. Many thanks. I would hugely appreciate this.
Ian
Another class of puppies graduate with flying colours - Congratulations everyone!!

Irene was presented with with a range of Westie themed items as a sincere thank you for her dedication to all aspects of the Club, training, agility and flyball, though she was quick to affirm that she isn't going anywhere.

Well Done!!
We are to have a fun night on 15th July instead of lessons, this will be the last evening until Tuesday 26th August, there will be a 6 week break.
June 14th club members from the dog agility and flyball attended the Arisaig Agricultural Show to demonstrate both of these activities to the spectators, there was plenty of interest during the flyball demonstrations with an opportunity for people to bring their dogs in to have a go.
In the afternoon the agility was to be held in the main ring which required organised precision to rapidly prepare the course, it was all hands on deck to unload the trailer and assemble the obstacles and then to hastily dismantle the course after the demonstration and repack the equipment into the trailer before the next item in the main ring started, this was achieved like clockwork.
All the agility dogs gave an entertaining performance which was highlighted by an excellent compere who was able to give a running commentary on each dog, we were all very pleased with the performance. A good day was had by us all although the weather was damp, we had a good breeze which kept the midges away. It was nice to have Karen and Tanya with us again, accompanied by babies and husbands.
Pictures - above: Flyball, Davina Melton & Fly. Below: Agility, Jackie MacDonald & Milo.

May we remind anyone who would like to join us in the above activities to phone Irene 01397 712482 for dates and times - it is great fun for both dogs and humans.

The evenings are getting longer and on the Tuesday evenings when we can't use the Nevis Centre (see Diary of Events page) we invite you all and your dogs to join us for a group walk at Nevis Range. We will meet at the car park beside the Auction Mart. Contact Morag for times and dates, tel:
The puppies can walk round "Thompsons Trail" (approx 20 minutes) and then have some free socializing in the safety of "Frasers Field", this should be lots of fun as well as good training.
Older dogs and their handlers may enjoy the longer "Riverside Walk" (approx 1 hour), good exercise for both and a chance to relax and let the dogs and handlers socialize together.
Don't forget the midge spray and poop bags.
Tyne (a maremma) owned by Mrs Macnaughton received their puppy training certificate on club night 25th March, the first puppy certificate of the year. See Recent Pictures for image.
