Extra Help

When further help is needed…

Lochaber and District Canine Society will try to assist anyone who asks for our help.  Unfortunately some issues go beyond our expertise and we will not be qualified to help you. In those cases we will refer you to the SKC who has a list of qualified behaviourists and they will be able to advise you further.  Please remember there is a big difference between a dog trainer and a dog behaviourist.

Below is a list of people in the area who may be able to help with issues that Club instructors cannot. These are not recommendations and are not in any specific order. If and when you speak to any of these people please ensure you give them all relevant information about your issue and answer their questions honestly and fully. Different people will have different ways of dealing with issues. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and be prepared to speak to more than one person. Your first step should always be a consultation with your vet to rule out any physical reasons for issues.
