7.30-8.30pm Intermediate Class with Layiaka Barr
7.30-8.30pm Companion Dog Class with Christine Cameron
8.30-9.15pm RINGCRAFT with Sharon Donald
For dogs at all levels in their show careers, especially useful for training puppies for the show ring.
8.30-9.15pm RALLY with Sarah Holroyd
Rally involves you and your dog working as a team to navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform; think of it as a sort of ‘obedience exercise obstacle course’ including simple exercises. All abilities welcome, for competition, or just for fun
All classes cost £3 per session and are paid monthly and in advance on the first Tuesday of every month. This does not include the Puppy Course where full payment is made when returning your enrolment forms.
The following is a list of things to bring with you to the classes:
- Dog Collar: Flat collar or half check with ID tag
- Lead: Rope, leather, nylon, not chain which hurts your hands and is difficult to use. (NO flexi-leads in the hall.)
- Titbits: Something really tasty! (for your dog).
- Toys: One that your dog likes to play with at home. (NOT squeaky, this can excite other dogs.)
- Poop-Scoop or Poly Bags: It is absolutely essential that owners clean up after their dog, both inside and outside the hall. Failure to do so could cost us the venue.
The Club has a library of training videos and books for the use of Club members, if you wish to borrow any of these please ask at the desk.
Please try to arrive in time for your class and wear appropriate clothing eg. flat shoes and trousers.
Also, please note dogs are not allowed in the main entrance of the Nevis Centre, please use the side door directly into the hall.
If you have male dogs please try to restrain them from lifting their legs against the pillars outside the Nevis Centre. (This does not look good for the Club and encourages bitches to do the same.)
If you have to leave your class for any reason, or are late in arriving, please make sure that you are not walking through another class, walk around the edges of the hall.
Rescue / rehomed dogs of all ages are to be assessed before joining a class.
This is in the best interest of the dogs and the owners. Please ask at the desk for more details.
MOST IMPORTANTLY – HAVE FUN WITH YOUR DOG!
